Plant Talk was founded in 1995 and was designed as an independent voice to help and support all those fortunate people who work in the conservation of plants; either professionally or as amateurs.

Eden Project has taken Plant Talk under its wing to foster the next, exciting stage of its life.

Tony Kendle

Tony Kendle

Dr Tony Kendle is the Creative Director of Eden Regeneration Ltd and a director of Plant Talk. Tony joined Eden in 2000 after leaving an academic career at the University of Reading. He has worked as a researcher and consultant both in the UK and overseas specialising in nature conservation, horticulture and restoration of degraded lands.

Shirley Walker

Shirley Walker 1Shirley is a senior horticulturist at the Eden Project, specializing mainly in Mediterranean climate plants. More recently she has been concentrating on her writing, sharing her enthusiasm for plants in a variety of publications. She is a regular contributor to the Eden blog and writes feature articles for newspapers, magazines and journals. One of Shirley’s real passions is for conservation, and was therefore delighted to be given the opportunity to edit and develop Plant Talk.

 

Dan Ryan

Dan RyanDan Ryan was editor of Plant Talk from 2008 to 2012, and during that time built a network of connections across the globe. He was responsible for the successful transition from print journal to online publication and brought us many inspiring stories. Dan has now taken up an exciting new role with the Eden Project as a Community Catalyst. .

Hugh was a founding father of Plant Talk and edited the magazine for many years. Although he has gone to explore new pastures in sustainable energy production he is still a great guide and mentor for the Eden team.
